Songwriter Showcase - June 24, 2008
Jim Schwall started his weekly stint at Bab's French Quarter Kitchen as a way for himself and local songwriters to showcase their new songs during February Album Writing Month.
It has gone so well that he has continued to host the event and this week it will be our very own James Travis sitting in and testing out some new tunes.
Come on down to Bab's (1353 Williamson St., Madison) to hear some songs and the stories behind them, maybe.
Show goes from 8-10pm. James will sit in during the latter portion, starting around 9:30. No cover. Good times.
JT Solo - June 11, 2008
He's not Han Solo's long lost brother, although he could be for reasons both charming and devilish. No, it's our very own James Travis stepping out in an old pair of shoes: the coffeehouse singer of yore.
On Thursday, June 26th, JT will be trying out some new-ish material as a guest of Jim Schwall at his weekly songwriters showcase. The welcoming confines of Bab''s French Quarter Kitchen on Williamson St. in Madison plays host to this event. A growing list of well respected regional players have been trying out new material every week. Come down and check it out!
On July 11, James will again roll out those melodies all by his lonesome, this time for a full evening of originals and choice covers. This time it will be at the Ancora Coffee Roasters location in Fitchburg. Visit
www.ancora-fitchburg.com/events for more information.
Hope to see you there!!

A special shout-out to all those who came out to the High Noon recently for the happy hour show. It was great fun.
James felt gracious appreciation for the positive response to his new tune. It's called, "It's A Damn Shame."
He'll be playing it again, along with some other new material, at the Songwriters In the Round show on April 1st at Ancora Coffee in Fitchburg, WI, just south of Madison off Fish Hatchery Road.

February Album Writing Month - February 1, 2008
No guarantee that hits will be made.
Not all that glimmers will be gold.
Giving inspiration a kick in the pants is what it's all about.
FAWM is offically here and James will do his best to compose 14.5 songs in these 29 days. Normally the goal is 14 songs in 28 days, but this is a leap year. So... co-writing anyone?
Send a note of support ( james@damnshames.com ).
He will appreciate it!
High Noon Happy Hour - January 29, 2008
High Noon Saloon.

Update - January 16, 2008
No update since 12/13?! Who's manning this errant ship of fools?!?!
You deserve better! So here it is...
We've got some gigs in the works; a little recording session, a happy hour slot, a trip to MN with a potential live-show recording... all before May!
But, as usual, we take it easy in January and February. That's right, easing into the new year.
So, hang tight, we'll post 'em as negotiations are finalized. You'll be the first to know.
Fancy Pants - on line - December 13, 2007
The live version of Fancy Pants that was posted a while back was not working. Now it is. Enjoy the full compliment of Damn Shames sight and sound! Lyrics are now also posted. Go to the "words & music" link right over there, a little to the left.
